Why Hyundai’s New HX85A is the Perfect Compact Excavator For You

October 18, 2022 | Product Knowledge, Updates

In 2005, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas entered the compact excavator market. Since then, Hyundai has released five generations of mini excavators, including their most recent release, the A-Series. Launching this series is the HX85A, the largest compact excavator offered by Hyundai. Read below to find out why the HX85A is the perfect addition to your fleet.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE

The HX85A is equipped with a T4 final stage 5 compliant Yanmar engine, producing 65.1 net horsepower. The Stage V engine powers an all-new load-sensing hydraulic system, allowing for multi-functional operation and precise machine controllability.

The HX85A comes standard with a 6’11” arm, fitted with a Werk-Brau compatible thumb bracket, two-way piping (with proportional controls) and a dual-locking quick coupler (with lifting hook). The dozer blade received an increase in curvature, allowing for a better grade, cutting ability and roll-off of material. The HX85A also has a 4-way angle dozer blade available as an option, in addition to a 2-piece boom option. This allows for a longer working range and prevents the operator from having to move the machine as frequently, saving the machine from wear and tear on the undercarriage, as well as improving productivity and reach.

SAFETY FEATURES

Equipped with Hyundai’s all-new Auto Safety Lock function, the HX85A prevents the unintended operation of the machine in the event the operator makes contact with any hydraulic controls while unlocking the safety lever or engaging the pilot system. It also offers a rearview camera or rear work lamp for maximum visibility around the machine.

OPERATOR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

The HX85A offers a spacious cab with a design that reduces noise and increases comfort and visibility for the operator. This machine is equipped with a 7″ full-color touchscreen monitor, which allows the operator to adjust the auxiliary flow rate (with a flow range of 13 to 26.4 GPM), and can save up to ten single-acting settings and 10 double-acting settings. In addition, the operator can change between two operation modes (Standard and Power) and activate one-touch auto idle, all from the comfort of the cab.

HI MATE TELEMATICS AND WARRANTY

The HX85A comes standard with five years free of Hyundai’s remote telematics system, Hi MATE, which uses GPS technology to track Hyundai machines at any time and from anywhere. Hi MATE allows the user to track fuel usage, maintenance history, GPS location, and more.

The HX85A is protected by Hyundai’s three-year, 3,000-hour full-machine warranty, as well as a five-year, 10,000-hour structural warranty, to give you confidence in your machines. As an option, you can add Hyundai Extend, our customized extended warranty with the industry’s longest-term coverage.
