The two German shepherds belonging to President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were sent back to the family’s Delaware home after the younger dog, Major, displayed aggressive behavior towards staff and bit a member of the White House security team, CNN reported Tuesday.

CNN reported that the two dogs were moved back to Delaware after a “biting incident” with a security agent whose condition is unknown, according to sources familiar with the subject.
Three-year-old Major, who the Bidens adopted from a shelter in 2018, has reportedly behaved aggressively towards White House staff in the past, including barking, jumping and “charging.”
13-year-old Champ has “slowed down physically due to his advanced age,” CNN reported.
Citing “a person familiar with the dogs’ schedule,” CNN reported that sources confirmed the dogs’ current location in Delaware, though did say they have been known to stay there with minders when the first lady is traveling.

Champ and Major moved into the White House within days of Biden’s inauguration after four petless years under Trump. Major made history for being the first shelter dog to live in the White House. In November, the then president-elect fractured his foot while playing with his dogs, reportedly slipping on Major.
